What to bring

When is it safe to swim?

Timing depends on your current chemical levels and what was added. Here are general guidelines — your printed plan will include specific timing for your pool.

Wait until free chlorine drops below 5 ppm. Usually 8–24 hours depending on the dose and sunlight.
Most algaecides are swim-safe within 15–30 minutes once fully circulated. Check the product label.
Wait at least 30 minutes with the pump running, then retest. Swim once pH reads between 7.2 and 7.6.
Allow 24 hours of circulation before retesting. Safe to swim once it’s fully dissolved and circulated.
Swim-safe almost immediately. Run the filter for at least 8 hours so it can do its job.
Wait until the salt is fully dissolved and the system has circulated for at least 24 hours. Test salinity before swimming.

Note: These are general guidelines. Your treatment plan from our digital water test will include timing specific to your pool’s readings.
